Joining the Irish Writers Union ensures you can avail of the Union’s professional services and advice, be kept informed of relevant developments, and meet other writers, as well as lending your support to the Union’s aims.
Our members include people who write fact, and people who write fiction, writers of scripts and stories, writers for stage, print and broadcast, for papers and magazines.
Membership is open to part-time and full-time writers in any language who are Irish by birth, adoption, or association.
The IWU year runs from January 1st to December 31st.

Is open to writers who satisfy the Committee that they are actively engaged in writing, but have not yet had their work published or broadcast. Associate members enjoy the same privileges as full members, excepting the right to vote at meetings.
The annual subscription is €50 for full membership and €30 for associate membership.
