From September, the Irish Writers Union will run a programme of webinars and workshops offering meaningful and relevant professional development to writers. The first of these is a webinar with Samantha Holman of the ICLA, on “Understanding copyright in the age of AI.” This will take place online on 19th September from 5pm-6:30pm.
All webinars/ workshops are free to members, with a charge of €25 for non-members . To register, email info@irishwritersunion.org. A zoom link will be sent prior to the event.
“We propose seminars and workshops in three main areas: The Writer’s Business, The Writer’s Life, and The Writer’s Craft,” said committee member Jonathan Saint.
We welcome suggestions from members of topics they would like to see delivered, as well as suggestions as to who might give them and suggestions of workshops or webinar they might be able to offer. The IWU will pay recording costs for online presentations, fees to presenters and room charges (plus refreshments) for in person meetings. Please email ideas to info@irishwritersunion.org.
